Newark’s Giant DJ-Rapper, Diesel, To Headline Tahoe Live
He stands 7’1 and weighs 325 pounds. Born in Newark 51 years ago, he’s known as Diesel and he’ll be headlining the second night of Tahoe Live on December 16 at Palisades Tahoe, located near Lake Tahoe in California. Long known as one of America’s premier ski resorts, the backdrop to this event is the perfect complement to what promises to be a psychedelic-electronic dance party for the ages. Diesel’s “journey into electronic dance music began in 2014 at TomorrowWorld where he was introduced to DJ icons like Steve Aoki and Skrillex, forever changing his life,” according to a Tahoe Live press release. F. Scott Fitzgerald once wrote “there are no second acts in American lives.” He never met Diesel. Starting out as the NBA’s Shaq, to Hollywood pitchman to actor to pervasive media celebrity, now he’s Diesel and he makes you move.
The event itself promises to be a blockbuster. LIVE is the brand behind Salt Lake Live and Park City Live. Now, with its partnership with Disco Donny Presents (DDP), a whole new level of crazy will explode at world-class resorts across the country. Rezz, the 23 year-old electronica whiz known as “Space Mom,” will open with her genre-banding compositions, a blend of bass-heavy throb and minimal tech.
