Patriarchs In Black Want ‘No More Blood’

Patriarchs In Black

Paramus Metal Warriors Patriarchs In Black are ready To Serve Man, as the title of their new album says, but not until January 8. For now, though, they want “No More Blood” because they, in the words of profound lyricist and lead guitarist Dan Lorenzo, “just want to get back home.”

Lorenzo explains:  “When I wrote it, I came up with the bass line first. Soon after, I heard the chorus in my head—lyrics/melody and everything. I was reading a book on General George Patton and I envisioned D-Day like the opening scene to Saving Private Ryan. I had seen parts of Platoon while channel-surfing. I cannot even imagine how horrible war must be. Terrible. So I went into the studio and sang scratch vocals before Johnny Kelly recorded his drums. I left in a small portion of my chorus vocals but then had Jeff Dixon, Sarah Sovak and Joe Ferrara REALLY sing. I’m, obviously, super-stoked about the world hearing this first single off our next album.”

Lorenzo (from Hades and Non-Fiction) plus Kelly (from Danzig, Quiet Riot and Type O Negative) put PIB together six years ago and have had five albums filled with metal guests to flesh out their vision.   (That’s Lorenzo on the right.)
