Newark Mayor Ras J. Baraka held a press conference on Juneteenth (6/19) at Harriet Tubman Square Park downtown Newark to announce a partnership with Festivals United Newark (FUN) to present a multi-genre lineup of free cultural events. “Festivals United Newark is more than a celebration—it’s a powerful reminder that from its beginning, our city has continuously brimmed with culture, creativity and radiant resilience,” said Mayor Baraka. "This historic collaboration spotlights our living history of unity, uplifts our artistic spirit, attracts new visitors and infuses our community with economic vitality. This is Newark at its best: thriving in the midst of art, joy and FUN!”

The Lineup:

  • LGBTQIA+ Pride Week started last night and will run until Sunday.

  • AfroBeat Fest, Military Park, this Saturday, live music, DJs, dance, workshops, African cuisine, fashion shows, kid’s activities and storytelling, 200+ venders with food, crafts, books and wellness info

  • 20th Annual Lincoln Park Music Festival July 23 to July 27 and August 1 to August 3
    Gospel Night: July 23, 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
    Soul Line Dance Night: July 24, 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
    R&B In The Park: July 25, 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
    House Music Day: July 26, noon to 10:00 p.m.

  • Hip-Hop Culture Day: July 27, noon to 9:30 p.m.
    Battle of the Producers: August 1, 6:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.
    “The Soul Of Lincoln Park”: August 2, 6:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.
