Skid Row Needs A Singer

Skid Row

“This is not a contest or a gimmick,” says the press release for Skid Row’s international vocalist hunt. “It’s a genuine search for the right voice, presence and authenticity to carry Skid Row forward.”

The band that burst out of Ocean County in 1989 with a self-titled debut and a follow-up—1991’s Slave To The Grind—that became the first metal album in history to debut at #1, has teamed up with a company—Sweetwater, an online instrument and audio retailer—to find a singer. Sebastian Bach lasted for the first three albums. Johnny Solinger replaced him on Thickskin (2003] and Revolutions Per Minute [2006] before he was fired and replaced by Tony Harnell of TNT who was replaced by ZP Theart who was replaced by Erik Gronwall. That’s Erik on 2022’s The Gang’s All Here album. Elizabeth Mae Hale briefly replaced him in 2024 but went back to her own band, Halestorm, shortly thereafter.

Think you have what it takes to sing lead for Skid Row? If so, auditions are underway. Visit https://www.sweetwater.com/insync/skid-row-the-next-chapter/.
