P-Funk North Tastes ‘Something In The Water’

P-Funk North

When Stefani M.C. Janelli writes about any band, we listen. She’s got good ears. Thus, we were hipped to P-Funk North, a band out of North Plainfield in Somerset County that fuses reggae, funk and rock’n’roll in a fun-filled, freewheeling festival of freaky alternative pop-musik. They’ve been around for 13 years as started by bassist-vocalist Dave Sloyan. With guitarist Kevin Nenichka, drummer Jack La Monica and “Hype Man/Dance King” Kingsley Joshua, the band has been performing at fests and  opening for the likes of The Offspring, The Wailers, Slightly Stoopid, Dashboard Confessional, Badfish, Fishbone and Yellowman.

Currently in the studio working with Scotch Ralston of 311 for a springtime release, they told Janelli in https://www.themicmg.com/mag that “consistency is key. Whatever you are doing, just keep doing it and DOUBLE IT.”
