‘Springsteen on Screen: From the Vault with Thom Zimny’

Bruce and Thom Zimny

The Bruce Springsteen Archives & Center for American Music (BSACAM) has announced September 28 as the date for a special evening with Grammy Award-winning film editor/director Thom Zimny in celebration of Bruce’s 75th birthday. The 7:30 p.m. event will be held in Pollak Theatre on the campus of Monmouth University in West Long Branch. “Springsteen on Screen: From The Vault of Thom Zimny” will feature Bruce clips from Zimny’s numerous cinematic excursions encapsulating the artist’s legendary 50+-year career. He will also discuss his work documenting, preserving and interpreting all things Bruce.

Zimny knows whereof he speaks. He has worked on the following projects:  Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band: Live in New York City (2001), Wings for Wheels: The Making of Born to Run (2005), The Promise: The Making of `Darkness on the Edge of Town’ (2010), the Netflix film of the Springsteen on Broadway concert residency (2018), Western Stars (2019), Letter to You (2020), and, most excitingly,  the upcoming Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band (releasing on Hulu and Disney+ next month.

BSACAM Director Eileen Chapman: “We look forward to another memorable evening with Thom Zimny as he shares with us rare and intimate glimpses into the life of Bruce Springsteen. Thom’s films will show the history of Bruce’s prolific career and will give us an intimate look into the mind that created such amazing music.”
