Stevie Van Zandt To Be Among Honorees at the Inaugural American Music Honors

The day after the first leg of the Bruce Springsteen tour ends in Newark April 14 at the Prudential Center, Stevie Van Zandt, Darlene Love, Steve Earle and Sam Moore will be honored by the Bruce Springsteen Archives & Center for American Music at Monmouth University. The April 15 event will take place at the Pollak Theatre on campus  in West Long Branch with Jon Stewart hosting and Springsteen, Garry Tallent and Southside Johnny Lyon making presentations. The Disciples of Soul will be the house band and all honorees are expected to perform as well as surprise guests under the musical direction of Marc Ribler.

MIKE GREENBLATT has been writing for Goldmine magazine and New Jersey's Aquarian Weekly for more than 35 years. His writing subjects fill the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

He's interviewed Joe Cocker, Graham Nash, David Crosby, Carlos Santana, Bruce Springsteen, Paul McCartney, Johnny Cash, and members of The Rolling Stones and The Beatles. He was 18 when he attended Woodstock in 1969.

In addition to writing about music, Greenblatt has worked on publicity campaigns for The Animals, Pat Benatar, Johnny Winter, Tommy James and Richard Branson, among others. He is currently the editor of The Jersey Sound.
