Rock’n’Roll Hall of Famer Ricky Byrd Releases Hot New Single

glamdemic blues ricky byrd

He spent over a year as lead guitarist in Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes when Bobby Bandiera left to join Bon Jovi. (“It was a helluva year,” he says today.) Rock’n’Roll Hall of Famer Ricky Byrd—inducted in 2015 as part of Joan Jett & The Blackhearts—who was also in the solo bands of The Who’s Roger Daltrey and Mott The Hoople’s Ian Hunter, has to be looked upon as a Rock MVP, a real band guy who adds immeasurably to any project he’s aligned with.

His latest single—“Glamdemic Blues” with the hippest cover of a Four Tops song you’ll ever hear (“Reach Out”) on the flip side—spent a week as the “Coolest Song In The World” on Little Steven’s Underground Garage (Sirius XM).

You can purchase it digitally here or as a signed physical 45 rpm here. And watch this space next month where we get The Byrdman to honestly come clean about his year+ as an Asbury Juke and other related items in the April “Up Close.”
