The Antoine Poncelet Band Revs It Back Up

Antoine Poncelet Band

As Antoine Poncelet says, “this song is for all us weirdos who ‘Live For The Night.’” Dedicated to those late-night/early mornings at Newark nightspot QXTs, “Live For The Night” has the band—whose members live in such far-flung Jersey locations like West Orange, Totowa, Lodi, Hasbrouck Heights and Matawan—performing at QXTs. It was shot and edited by Brian and son Jacob Jude (an English major at Kean University in Union).

Described as “infamous psychedelic post-punk hard-rock Goth’n’Roll,” and influenced by The Doors, Black Sabbath, Bowie, Iggy, Lou Reed, The Cure and The Cult, The Antoine Poncelet Band gorged itself on movies like The Hunger and Near Dark before conceiving “Live For The Night” as a celebration of vampiric delight.

Mixed, recorded and produced by Doug Lane at 650 Studios in Hazlet and Greg Bullock of Ocean County band Cyborg Amok, “Live For The Night” features Poncelet on vocals, Bullock on keyboards and synthesizer with Peter Quilla on guitar, Mark McClemons on bass/backing vocals and Justin Wright on drums. You can see them acoustically November 30 at Debonair Hall in Teaneck opening for Shadow Circus.
