The Jump, Jive & Wail of Swing That Cat

Swing That Cat

They come out of Camden County primed and ready to be lit like a cherry bomb. And once they’re lit, there’s no telling how hot the fire can be, hot enough to make you hop, squirm and twitch to their jump, jive and wail. They’re a sonic cocktail of Blues, Swing, Cabaret, Jazz, Rock’n’Roll and covers. I’d love to hear them interpret “South Street” by The Orlons. The current album is LEAP.

On November 28, Swing That Cat will open for DD Verni & The Cadillac Band at the New Brunswick Performing Arts Center. “We can’t wait to join our friend DD Verni in New Brunswick and light the dance floor on fire,” says Swing That Cat guitarist and co-founder Chris Peraino, to which singer Michele Peraino adds, “this kind of music uplifts people, and helps them shake off their troubles. It’s not trapped in an era. It’s a call to action that makes you shimmy, shake, and wanna leap off your seat to dance your tail off!”
