The Mississippi Delta Meets The Jersey Shore on June 2

Anthony "Big A" Sherrod

The New Jersey Shore Jazz & Blues Foundation has announced a partnership with the Bruce Springsteen Archives & Center for American Music, the Mississippi Delta National Heritage Area and “Visit Clarksdale.” The inaugural event—slated for June 2 at Monmouth University’s Lauren K. Woods Theatre in Long Branch—is entitled “The Mississippi Delta Meets The Jersey Shore” and will feature Anthony “Big A” Sherrod & The All-Stars direct from Clarksdale, Mississippi, with local blues singer Stringbean of Neptune City opening.

This is only the first such event between these entities because, as the legendary Chicago bluesman Willie Dixon once said, “the blues are the roots and other musics are the fruits.”

The $25 tickets can be bought at the University’s box office or here.
