This British band got unceremoniously dumped in with the cookie-cutter synth-pop bands of the 1980s but they were always a cut above, due to the excellence of their second album, 1985’s Songs From The Big Chair, which topped the Billboard album chart with its two #1 monster hits “Shout” and “Everybody Wants To Rule The World.” After some 1990s acrimony, the new century proved a windfall for them with the release of 2004’s Everybody Loves A Happy Ending and they’ve been touring ever since. Last year’s The Tipping Point proved their chops and chemistry were intact and they start their 2023 tour down the shore.
