Meet… Izzy Miz

Izzy Miz

Izzy Miz is a singer-songwriter-producer-multi instrumentalist-model-painter-photographer originally from Jackson in Ocean County. Now she lives in California and likes to hit the clubs of West Hollywood. She hikes Runyon County, loves good restaurants, and credits her late chef dad as the main inspiration of her life. Miz wrote, recorded, produced, mixed and mastered her 2018 “Drive” debut song while still in college. Now she has her four-song False Deities debut out and it’s filled with witty lyricism, especially “Run, My Love,” which seems to be a fan favorite. The subjects for her songs know no boundaries and that’s what makes her so appealing, quixotic, fascinating and endearing. Hedonism, addiction, escapism and the ability to lose yourself in an effort to find yourself are all in the mix.

She’s also a deep thinker, telling The Jersey Sound, “I don’t know if I could survive without a creative outlet. I think it’s definitely a privilege to be able to devote as much time and energy as I can to music but I also think creating is something that human beings do no matter their circumstances. I think a lot about the ways in which music and art have been integral in liberation movements throughout history. Creating is a means of survival.” Izzy Miz will perform next month in Asbury Park at Wonder Bar on December 28.
