Meet… Reg Mason

Our state is known for music, tomatoes, beaches and diners, among other things. In rapper/singer/producer Reg Mason’s new video for “STE” featuring JTT, he’s in a diner, The White Rose System Diner, to be exact, in Roselle, sharing fries with a hottie. It’s a first date. “Let’s Hang On” by The Four Seasons is one of the songs on the jukebox. It’s a Jersey thing. Mason’s from Union and his flow is impeccable. Call it Alternative hip-hop. And call him a misfit. He likes that.

“STÉ is about the internal battle that occurs when you’re with someone who you’re not entirely sure accepts the fundamental part of you that is being an artist,” he says. “ Anyone who has been in the position where they have to choose whether or not they will give up their dreams for a relationship knows this feeling, including myself, and that’s something I’m not willing to compromise.”
