Albert Castiglia Teams Up With Mike Zito for the Powerful ‘Blood Brothers’

Singer/Songwriter/Guitarist Albert Castiglia may have been born in New York City, raised in Miami, and found fame in Chicago’s blues scene, but his third album, 2006’s A Stone’s Throw, with an incendiary cover of the 1965 Junior Wells hit “Hoodoo Man Blues,” was released by Blues Leaf Records in Monmouth County. He hit his stride on 2010’s Keepin’ On (recorded in Morris County) transcending John Lee Hooker, Bob Dylan and T-Bone Walker. In 2014, he recorded Solid Ground in Essex County, revitalizing the 1942 St. Louis Jimmy classic, “Goin’ Down Slow” and the 1971 Rolling Stones b-side “Sway.”

So we’re claiming him as our own.

Now he’s on tour with St. Louis Guitar Hero Mike Zito on Zito’s Gulf Coast Records supporting their Blood Brothers album, a bona-fide classic of hard rockin’ blues. Recorded in Louisiana, co-produced by Joe Bonamassa, with a cast of 17, tracks like “You’re Gonna Burn,” “Hill Country Jam” and “Bag Me, Tag Me, Take Me Away” are three highlights of an 11-track masterpiece.
