Bettye’s Magnificent ‘LaVette!’ Album Nominated For A Grammy Award

American treasure Bettye LaVette, who resides in Essex County, has been nominated for the seventh time in her illustrious career for a Grammy Award in honor of her current LaVette! masterpiece for “Best Contemporary Blues Album.” If she wins, this would be her first statuette. The competition, as always, is tough. She’ll be up against Death Wish Blues by Samantha Fish and Jesse Dayton, Healing Time by Ruthie Foster, Live In London by Christone “Kingfish” Ingram and Blood Harmony by Larkin Poe.
