Brian K & The Parkway Release Debut Single; Album & Tour To Follow

Brian K & The Parkway Killing The Bear

Although now based in the Washington DC area, Brian K. Pagels hails from Freehold. His duo partner is Stephen Russ and the two of them wear their Bruce/Tom Petty/Warren Zevon influences on their sleeves. The Killing The Bear debut album—by Brian K & The Parkway—doesn’t drop until March 29 but you can hear the first single—“Wind The Clock”—here.

They call their sound “coastal heartland rock” and have been perfecting their craft for three years. The Parkway moniker does not refer to the Garden State Parkway but the George Washington Memorial Parkway connecting their Virginia homes in Alexandria and Arlington.

The album was mastered by Justin Perkins who had similar responsibilities with the North Mississippi Allstars, The Replacements and Lydia Loveless. Engineered by Zac Thomas in South Carolina with a guest spot from Cat Popper of Puss N Boots (her band with Norah Jones and Sasha Dobson), its hard-Americana sound will hit stages in Vienna Virginia at Jammin Java on March 29 before venturing on to the Carolinas, Boston and Brooklyn. On May 3, they will perform at  The Berkeley Oceanfront Hotel in Asbury Park. On May 5, they will perform at Sleepwalk in Brooklyn.
