Long Out-of-Print Yo La Tengo Album Re-Released on Pink & Red Vinyl

Yo La Tengo

Yo La Tengo formed in 1984 Hoboken. The band’s eleventh studio album, in 2006, I Am Not Afraid Of You And I Will Beat Your Ass, has been out-of-print for the last nine years. Now, via vinyl distributors Bandbox, the 15-track album is available again in a double-disc pink and red vinyl format. The second disc is actually a fanzine featuring the band’s insights into the original recording.

If you’re wondering about the title, it was lifted directly from a heated exchange in the NBA by two New York Knicks:  Tim Thomas and Stephon Marbury. One track—“Mr. Tough”—can be heard below.

Mike Greenblatt

MIKE GREENBLATT has been writing for Goldmine magazine and New Jersey's Aquarian Weekly for more than 35 years. His writing subjects fill the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

He's interviewed Joe Cocker, Graham Nash, David Crosby, Carlos Santana, Bruce Springsteen, Paul McCartney, Johnny Cash, and members of The Rolling Stones and The Beatles. He was 18 when he attended Woodstock in 1969.

In addition to writing about music, Greenblatt has worked on publicity campaigns for The Animals, Pat Benatar, Johnny Winter, Tommy James and Richard Branson, among others. He is currently the editor of The Jersey Sound.
