Fear Not! Agent Elvis Will Save Democracy!
Longtime Jersey Rocker John Eddie has teamed up with Priscilla Presley to create Agent Elvis. Netflix’s new 10-episode animated series is funny, outrageous, action-packed and already has pissed people off. Movie Star Matthew McConaughey voices the Elvis character while dropping as many F-Bombs as possible. The promotional effort by Netflix says, “Elvis Presley trades in his jumpsuit for a jetpack to battle the dark forces that threaten the country—all while holding down his day job as The King of Rock’n’Roll.”
Series co-creator John Eddie, 63—who in June will be performing at the Barefoot Country Music Festival in Wildwood—shares show-running and executive producer duties with Priscilla Presley. Eddie’s been secretly working on this project for years, a fact he shared on his website. (The longtime Jersey rocker was forced to disband his dynamite Front Street Runners band—that he fronted from ’81 to ’86—when he signed his Columbia Records deal.)
Actor McConaughey told Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show that his character is “an ass-kicking vigilante by night, and I’ve got a chimpanzee as my crime-fighting sidekick.”
