Get Ready For Another Free Woodbridge Concert Series

We have to hand it to Woodbridge Mayor John E. McCormac for instituting the best annual tradition ever in Middlesex County. How about five-nights-a-week of free concerts starting June 3 and continuing all the way to September 20. Unheard of! With national acts on Wednesdays at Parker Press Park, Tribute Band Tuesdays, oldies Mondays and Americana Sundays (all at Woodbridge High School) and local band Thursdays at Herbert Rankin Park in nearby Sewaren, Woodbridge rocks! Not to be missed is longtime Jethro Tull guitarist Martin Barre on June 21. His band is quite exquisite, explosive and actually beats out the current Tull lineup for drama and flair. Martin, it must be said, is one of the most underrated and overlooked British Rock Guitar Heroes in history. The man can play! The tributes to Bowie, McCartney, Neil Young, Eagles, Ronstadt, Fleetwood Mac, Paul Simon, Journey, Beatles, ELO and Bon Jovi should be fun. It all kicks off June 3 at Merrill Park in Iselin with an all-day party featuring tributes to Chicago, Bruce and more.
