Might There Be A Second Volume of ‘Tracks’ Due in 2025?

Bruce Springsteen Tracks Volume 1

The release of Tracks, by Bruce Springsteen, in 1998, was a treasure chest of great material with 66 songs originally deemed not worthy enough to be added to his official releases. In actuality, though, the songs hit like a bolt from the blue, equally stirring and some cases even better what was released officially. It remains today as one of our all-time favorite boxed sets. It boggles the mind that “Pink Cadillac,” for instance, was left off Born In The USA and it still thrills to this day. Bruce has maintained that a lot of these deletions had nothing to do with quality but everything to do with fitting into the  cohesive whole of a particular album.

In a press release from the Bruce camp, the last sentence reads “upcoming releases in 2025 will include a look back at Springsteen’s storied recording career, featuring never-before-heard material.” That set us salivating over a possible Tracks II boxed set. Stories of his recording adventures and how he’s always been so meticulous in arrangements, production and compositional avenues have led us to surmise there just may be some “new” Bruce on the horizon.
