After the literary successes of Patti Smith’s 2010 Just Kids, and her 2015 M Train, her brand new third memoir, Bread Of Angels, is enthralling readers with its personalized anecdotes about growing up on the Jersey side of the Pennsylvania border in Gloucester County’s Deptford Township. The first book keyed in on one of the loves of her life, photographer Robert Mapplethorpe [1946-1989]. This third book gets even more personal.

Patti Smith, 78, has announced plans to tour in support of the 50^th Anniversary of her groundbreaking Horses debut where she will be performing the album in its entirety. Guitarist Lenny Kaye and drummer Jay Dee Daugherty, who both played on the original release, will be with her plus keyboardist-bassist Tony Shanahan and Patti’s son, guitarist Jackson Smith.

On March 26, 2025, Carnegie Hall will host “People Have The Power:  A Celebration of Patti Smith” with 20 artists yet to be named. Proceeds from ticket sales will benefit various music education programs in the tri-state area. Tickets will go on sale October 22 at the Carnegie Hall website.

Patti Smith—from Deptford Township in Gloucester County—will bring her “Words and Music” show to the McCarter Theater Center in Princeton on September 23.
