Skid Row’s Rachel Bolan is At War With Himself

40 years on in Skid Row, bassist Rachel Bolan has released his first solo video, “At War With Myself,” from his upcoming June 12 solo album, Gargoyle of the Garden State, by Bolan (as he’s calling himself these days). Produced by multi‑Grammy winner Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters, Skid Row, Rush, Evanescence, Alice In Chains), the album, according to Bolan, “is not a project, it is every bit of my soul. Like me, it knows when to be serious and also knows where the party is."

Skid Row Bassist Rachel Bolan is the ‘Gargoyle Of The Garden State’

Thirty-Seven years after the self-titled debut of Ocean County metal band Skid Row in 1989, bassist Rachel Bolan will be declaring himself Gargoyle Of The Garden State when his solo debut is released June 12 by earMUSIC.  Nick Raskullnecz, who produced the last Skid Row album—2022’s The Gang’s All Here—will once again be at the helm.

Skid Row, the Toms River hair-metal band that reached the pinnacle of success in the ‘80s, is doing just fine with singer Erik Gronwell. Their sixth album, ‘The Gang’s All Here,’ in 2022, was their first in 16 years, and it’s selling. But the gang isn’t exactly all here, is it?
