“I’m On Fire”
This fourth hit single from Born In The U.S.A. hit #6 in April of 1985. It remains—41 years later—one of Bruce’s most popular streams, thus the Bruce camp released this lyric video in July.
“Love On The Wrong Side Of Town”
Is it me or is Little Steven in his old age sounding more and more just like Southside Johnny?
“Roses & Kerosene”
Brian K, originally from Freehold, is now based in DC. That’s John Hiatt’s daughter, Lilly, on vocals. “I loved singing this with Brian and the boys,” she says. “Beautiful melody and sentiment. Let it light your heart ablaze.” Brian K says, “When asked who we should contact about singing the duet, Lilly was the first person I named. I’ve loved her songs and voice since her Trinity Lane record, and figured why not just shoot for the moon?”
“Bitch And Moan”
Todd Bailey, from Burlington County in South Jersey, is on his 13th album. “Ever feel like you’re on the outside looking in while the cool kids get all the attention,” he asks. “Here’s to staying true to yourself, even when nobody’s watching.”
“Rene and Georgette Magritte With Their Dog After The War”
You can tell by listening to this track from 1983’s Hearts and Bones that Paul Simon—born in Newark—loves doo-wop music. He wrote it after seeing an evocative picture of surrealist artist René Magritte [1898–1967], his wife Georgette and their dog. It also serves, of course, as a doo-wop tribute.
