The news from the Bruce camp came Wednesday: “Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band have postponed all performances currently scheduled for September 2023, beginning with…Syracuse…Mr. Springsteen is being treated for symptoms of peptic ulcer disease and the decision of his medical advisors is that he should postpone the remainder of his September shows.”

Gary Wright Dies at 80

Bergen County native Gary Wright, who lived in Cresskill and Tenafly, got famous in England as a member of Spooky Tooth in 1967, played on George Harrison’s All Things Must Pass in 1970, and enjoyed massive hits with “Dream Weaver” and “Love Is Alive” off his 1975 solo album ‘The Dream Weaver,’ has finally ended his long battle with Parkinson’s Disease and Lewy Body Dementia at the age of 80.

South Jersey Saxophonist Carl Cox Inspired By Ukrainian Fan

Sax Man/Educator Carl Cox’s ‘Universal Language’ has been out since April but when a Ukrainian jazz fan, Yuri, reached out to him on Facebook to tell the South Jersey musician—who lives in Turnersville in Gloucester County—how important his music has become to him, Cox not only wrote back but added a new track, “In Time Of Need,” on his sophomore effort for the fan who has to endure the indignity of war. Fallen Music Journalist Honored

The Mercury Lounge, in New York City, on August 23, at 6:30, will host a free night of stories and music about longtime New Jersey music journalist Scott Schinder. (Donations will be accepted at the door to cover the cost of the event.) Schinder was stricken with a kidney-related ailment in 2016, undergoing seven years of treatment before succumbing to the disease on June 4 at the age of 61.
