Rudolph Isley Dies at 84

The Isley Brothers are one of New Jersey’s great treasures. They even named their own record label T-Neck after the town (Teaneck) in Bergen County where they settled after coming here from Ohio. Rudolph Isley—who died Wednesday at age 84—was an original founding member but quit the group in 1990 to become a Christian minister. He co-wrote such celebrated Isley hits as “Shout,” “It’s Your Thing,” “That Lady” and “Fight The Power.”

December 1-10 are the dates for the Asbury Park Theater Company’s production of ‘Always…Patsy Cline.’ Mandy Barnett made the role famous when she portrayed the tragic Patsy Cline—who died at 30 in a plane crash—at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, home of the original Grand Ole Opry. Al Di Meola Has Onstage Heart Attack

Legendary Jersey City guitarist Al Di Meola, 69, suffered a heart attack onstage last Wednesday in Bucharest, Romania. He was rushed to the Bagdasar-Arseni hospital’s emergency ward where he was treated for a “segment elevation myocardial infarction or STEMI,” according to Associated Press. He is now in stable condition and sent out his own missive thanking fans for the concern.
