The Stevie Van Zant documentary, ‘Disciple,’ debuted on MAX June 22 after having its world premiere at the prestigious Tribeca Film Festival. Bruce Springsteen, Paul McCartney, Eddie Vedder, Bono, Maureen Van Zant and Darlene Love are all in it as are clips from ‘The Sopranos’ where Van Zandt plays Silvio Dante.

On April 26, in Monmouth’s County Middletown, where E Street legend Stevie Van Zandt grew up with his brother Billy, Wilson Avenue will be renamed Van Zandt Way in an 11:00 a.m. ceremony honoring both siblings: the musician and the playwright/producer/actor/writer.

Tony Orlando was honored October 29 at NJ PAC in Newark with fellow inductees singer-songwriter Patti Scialfa (Deal) and producer-writer-director David Chase (The Sopranos) of Clifton and North Caldwell, in the entertainment category. New York Giant running back Tiki Barber (Florham Park) and WNBA all-star Sue Wicks, a Rutgers alum, were also inducted, in the sports category.

It’s called Little Steven’s Policeman’s Ball Inaugural Charity Golf Outing. It stems from an idea he had in 2014 with Detective Kevin Schroeder that resulted in that year’s Policeman’s Ball. It was in support of the NYPD “With Arms Wide Open” effort to benefit kids with special needs as well as the already-established Detective Endowment Association Widows and Children Fund.

One thing you can unequivocally say about Stevie Van Zandt is the cat has ears. Everything he puts out on his Wicked Cool Records label is certainly worth hearing. The day after the first leg of the Bruce Springsteen tour ends in Newark April 14 at the Prudential Center, Stevie Van Zandt, Darlene Love, Steve Earle and Sam Moore will be honored by the Bruce Springsteen Archives & Center for American Music at Monmouth University.

Stevie Van Zandt has signed a multi-million dollar deal with Primary Wave Music. PWM will now manage his publishing/recording catalog as well as owning the rights to his “name and likeness.”
